Overview

Automatically synchronise Exchange, Active Directory and Outlook address lists with GALsync.

GAL synchronisation allows you to exchange e-mail-enabled objects with other Exchange organisations and even Exchange Online. This way, users in the included mail organisations can use the other organisation's user and group data.

In addition, our awarded tool does not only provide object synchronisation but also the best synchronisation of calendar data (free/busy times) using Microsoft Federation, Cross-Forest delegation or Cross-Forest-Free/Busy between multiple Exchange organisations.

GALsync application scenariosShow more

Company-wide shared Active Directory model
Your enterprise has several independent Exchange organisations (say, for distribution). The mail objects of the external Active Directory should be available for Outlook users via the GAL of the internal Active Directory. Vice versa, the users should be able to see the mail addresses (and other information) of the internal Active Directory objects (or a subset) in Outlook.

Company takeover
Following a company takeover you have to integrate the different Active Directory and Exchange organisations. Only the integration of the messaging environment is desired (without consolidation). Each or any subsets of all e-mail-enabled objects should be available in the Outlook GAL of the other organisation.

Partnerships
Your enterprise has a partner in active email exchange. All or any subsets of the e-mail-enabled objects should be available in the Outlook GAL of the other organisation.

Migration
Your company would like to migrate into a new Exchange organisation. Now you have to make sure that all migrated users can send e-mails to users in the ‘old’ company and vice versa, and be able to check their availability.

FeaturesShow more

  • Select (only) objects that you need
Select all objects or any subsets that you would like to export. Since GALsync is intended for Outlook users (Exchange GAL), only the e-mail-enabled AD objects indicated in the source GAL are considered. In addition, objects can be excluded by setting a user-defined attribute or included character string.
  • Multiple domains
Select objects from every domain of your Active Directory for exporting. GALsync is multi-domain enabled.
  • Selecting the network protocol
GALsync enables data transmission of the selected objects using FTP transfer, a Windows Shared directory or e-mail sent via the Exchange mailbox of the GALsync service account.
  • Secure data transmission
Data is transmitted between the different Active Directories in an encoded file, whatever the network protocol. Nobody can read details of the object information during its transmission from source to destination. Both sides need a key generated by the programme to export or import data.
  • Managed code
GALsync is programmed in ‘managed code’ with .NET Framework. It is compiled to run on 64-bit Windows platforms.
  • Log files
Log files track everything that has happened during the entire sync process.
